Vocational enrolment has recovered strongly, helped by lower fees and a shift in how families view the certificate. Placement, though, is uneven between institutes teaching the same trade.
The variable that matters
Institutes with a formal attachment agreement place graduates at several times the rate of those without one, because the employer has already seen the student work.
We hire the ones who did their attachment with us. We are not guessing about them.
Equipment is the second constraint: welding and mechanical courses taught on demonstration machines produce graduates who need retraining on the line.
